In January 2015 there was an open community forum in Zugló with 200 interested listeners about the possibilities of founding a Waldorf School in the district. Out of these participants a smaller group of devoted parents started to meet on a regular basis and they founded The Zeg-Zug Waldorf Association with 14 members in June 2015 (officially got registered in October 2015).
Our first main program was to establish the governance and operational structures of the Association.
At the first stage Mandate Groups were formed with 4-6 members. These Mandate Groups are working closely together and holding regular operational meetings where consensus based decision making process is used for decision making. The daily operational work is led by the Board of Trustees.

In June 2015 our Association approached the Hungarian Association for Waldorf Education where our school foundation initiative got registered officially, and then we got approval for the right to use the name “Waldorf”. To help and move forward the foundation process we started to work on promoting the principles of the Waldorf pedagogy for a broader audience. In order to this we hosted a variety of public lectures and discussions: in the autumn of 2015 we organized a four-part lecture series with significant increase in attendance (110 attendees). It was the main basis of our community building, after the lectures we created a mailing list and a Facebook page where anyone who were interested in our mission could keep in touch with us, our efforts and with each other.
